PCI History
In 1998, four friends found themselves at a personal and professional crossroads – looking for new career challenges and for a way to add meaning to their lives.
Wayne Abraham, co-founder of the Triad Health Project, wanted to explore additional avenues for giving back to the community. Mark Barton was ready for a career change and to pursue an interest in healthcare that emerged early in his life. Ann Clegg had first-hand experience struggling to provide home care for an ailing parent and didn’t want other families to endure the same frustrations. Deborah Jamieson had spent years working with crisis lines and drug abuse victims and wanted to find a new way to be of service.
Together the four friends founded Personal Care Inc. as a way to live out their values. They designed an organization that would set itself apart through the range of services it provides and the holistic support it delivers to clients and their families. For PCI providing home care services is why we are here, rather than this service being only a side line for a much larger corporate entity.
