Education
Personal Care Inc. offers learning sessions that help caregivers build the skills needed to care for their loved one and themselves.
A caregiver is anyone who provides basic assistance and care for someone who is frail, disabled or ill and needs help. Caregivers perform a wide variety of tasks to assist someone else in his or her daily life, including housework, personal care, cooking, administering medications and more. This type of care may be required for months or even years. It is important that caregivers get the support and information they need to deal with the emotional, physical and financial strains that caregiving can put on a family.
Following the sessions, alumni can participate in support groups with other family caregivers. Respite care for the caregiver is available for long weekends, vacations, weekly errands or for just a dinner and a movie. Gift certificates are available.
